MOU Signing Ceremony between National Chung Cheng University and Western Michigan University
To cultivate talent at the University and enhance students’ practical experience in order to strengthen their career competitiveness, National Chung Cheng University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Western Michigan University (WMU) at 4:00 PM on November 15, 2023, in the Main Conference Room of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub at CCU.
The MOU was signed on behalf of CCU by Director Hung Hsin-Yuan. During the ceremony, both parties engaged in discussions on industry–academia collaboration, research and technological exchange, and student internship programs, laying the foundation for future cooperation.
Founded in 1903, Western Michigan University is a leading public research university in the United States. WMU has been ranked among America’s Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report for 24 consecutive years, with its national ranking continuing to improve. In addition, Washington Monthly has recognized WMU as a top national university and one of the best-value universities in the United States.
WMU boasts outstanding campus facilities, including modern infrastructure, a world-class College of Aviation, one of the youngest medical schools in the United States, and public service clinics. Its engineering campus is located adjacent to a business, technology, and research park, and the university also features renowned art venues and a fully equipped student activity center. WMU comprises several distinguished colleges, including the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Aviation, Haworth College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Fine Arts, College of Health and Human Services, Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, Cooley Law School, and the Graduate College.
Director Hung Hsin-Yuan stated that this partnership is expected to promote diverse forms of industry–academia collaboration between CCU and WMU. By integrating theory and practice and advancing joint research projects, the collaboration aims to create valuable learning opportunities for students through closer engagement with industry, ultimately establishing a win–win–win model that benefits students, universities, and enterprises alike.
