CCU Partners with the Chiayi Cultural and Technology Innovation Base to Cultivate Local AI and VR Talent
As the era of 5G and artificial intelligence (AI) continues to accelerate, global technological transformation is advancing at an unprecedented pace. Actively embracing this wave of innovation, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub of National Chung Cheng University (CCU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 14th with the Chiayi Cultural and Technology Innovation Base, becoming the first higher education institution nationwide to establish such a partnership.
Through this collaboration, both parties will engage in in-depth cooperation across areas including AI technology, cultural technology, and entrepreneurship resources, with the shared goal of cultivating future professionals in AI and VR while injecting new momentum into local industries and technological innovation.
To nurture key talent essential to Chiayi’s future development, the Chiayi Cultural and Technology Innovation Base was officially launched earlier this year by the Chiayi County Government. As a project-driven innovation platform, the base is dedicated to introducing advanced 5G virtual production platforms and AR/VR/MR hardware and software, establishing a Cultural Technology Experience Center, supporting the transformation and upgrading of local industries, fostering startup teams, and organizing related competitions. In addition, the establishment of the AI Cultural Innovation Academy positions the base as a major engine for driving regional industrial innovation and cultivating young talent with strong creative capabilities.
Project Director Ms. Tsou Shu-Wen of the Chiayi Cultural and Technology Innovation Base emphasized that “today’s industrial development can no longer rely on isolated efforts. Innovation and entrepreneurship require collaboration among diverse stakeholders in order to build a multifaceted and sustainable ecosystem.” She further noted that this MOU is highly significant, as it will help strengthen this ecosystem and promote the integration of technology and industry through cross-sector collaboration.
Professor Hung Hsin-Yuan, Director of CCU’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub, stated that talent cultivation is the foundation of long-term development, particularly in the context of digital transformation driven by 5G and AI, where innovation has become the core force across all industries. He emphasized that this partnership marks only the beginning, and that both parties will continue to deepen collaboration based on project needs to nurture more professionals aligned with future industry demands.
This partnership not only injects new vitality into Chiayi’s technological innovation landscape, but also lays a solid foundation for future talent development and industrial growth. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Mr. Cheng Pu-Yuan, Chairman of Rui-Zhi. As more collaborative projects are implemented, this alliance is expected to become a key driving force in local economic transformation, opening a new chapter for Chiayi’s innovation-driven development.
